This foam combines the feel of memory foam and latex without the downsides, such as the typical “quicksand” memory foam feeling, body impressions, or overly buoyant latex. The open-cell structure of this foam allows heat to move away from your body while sleeping. It's breathable, durable, and offers great pressure relief.

Super comfortable and a great value

I was looking to replace an original Tuft and Needle when I found this company, started by one of the Tuft and Needle founders. Tried a queen Boring mattress, loved it, and ended up buying a second. It's more comfortable, supportive, and breathable than my old T&N. To anyone looking to replace a T&N and avoid all of the sketchy mattress marketing hype: you've come to the right place.

So glad I pulled the trigger on this mattress!

Let me start off by saying I am not a mattress expert, although after weeks/months of research and reading forums I may as well be now. I moved to a new house and needed to throw away my old mattress and look for a new one, so I went to the big mattress store (you know which one) and found one I thought I liked, well I thought wrong as I ended up severely disliking the BR pressuresmart firm model. I literally tried 3 different toppers and nothing was working for me so I bit the bullet and returned it which is what led me to the Boring Mattress. I was nervous of course to buy a bed online but at this point I was ready to take a leap of faith so I could sleep comfortably and I am so glad I did. The mattress arrived quickly and unboxing it was very simple (you need 2 people as it is heavy). It decompressed quickly and I slept on it that very same day, I will say the first night the mattress felt quite firm but softened up by night 3 to the optimal comfort level, it really is a "medium -firm". I've had it for about a month now and still look forward to going to bed at night, it is a simple mattress but they got this one just right for me at a good price point for a Queen. TL:DR if you want a medium-firm buy this thing, I am a real person and was not paid for this review in any way, just like the mattress alot.

Excellent Experience, incredibly happy with my decision

After researching and reading reviews for several weeks I came across Boring. I really appreciated what they were trying to do, and the transparency they provided. I decided, with a 99-day sleep trial, and nothing but great reviews, that I would give them a shot. I am very happy with my decision. Every interaction with customer service, usually through their chat, was an excellent experience, and I have been extremely happy with my mattress. I would absolutely recommend a Boring mattress to friends and family.

Great Mattress Experience

I can’t begin to tell all of the great company Boring is in my book. I loved the mattress, but my SO wanted something firmer. The mattress return was bittersweet, but seamless. So easy, and swift. I would highly recommend giving Boring a shot. Their mattresses are of great quality, value, and comfort.

Boring Mattress

I’m really good at doing things when they need to be done like changing air filters, toothbrush heads, water filters, and going to the doctor or dentist for checkups/cleanings. I know when you’re supposed to do all these things and I do it. What I didn’t know was that you’re supposed to get a new mattress every 7-10 years. I was WAAAAAAYYYYY overdue to purchase one. Every time I started looking I would get frustrated, annoyed, and put it off one more year. A few months ago I started waking up with terrible pain in my hips, shoulders, and lower back. I got a new pillow, didn’t help. I knew I couldn’t wait so I finally got serious about getting a new one. I researched, went to Mattress Firm, got pissed, and then I finally found one. I purchased a mattress from the Boring Mattress Co.. I was going to buy a Tuft & Needle until I found out they sold to Serta Simmons in 2018 and the quality has diminished, according to reviews. The Boring Mattress Co. was started by the co-founders of Tuft & Needle in 2024 and I decided to give them a shot. They sell one mattress, a medium firm hybrid. That’s it, no bullshit. They are made in Arizona, are CertiPUR-US®, and have a fire barrier that's completely fiberglass-free, it’s made from a food-grade salt treatment that is chemical and irritant free. They also have excellent customer service. I had questions and when I emailed them one of the co-founders emailed me back that day. They are also not a million dollars.
It’s been two weeks and I’m sleeping better than I have in a long time. I did end up buying their mattress topper because the medium firm was a bit more firm than I wanted but I also like a topper and have always used one. They have a page on Reddit which is great and how I found them. If you’re in the market for a good mattress then give these guys a shot, I’m so glad I finally did.

It's ok.

I received my Boring mattress in April, after mulling what kind to get for some time (had been a T&N pre-Serta user, as well as a T&N Serta Mint user). Initially, I was unsure about the mattress, and I let it break in some.

I expected some firmness, of course, but compared to both the T&N versions I've used, as an average side sleeper (5'11", male, 160lb), the Boring mattress just provides too much resistance. I wake up often in the night, having to flip over to reduce the stress on my hips and shoulders.

Additionally, the material of the cover is already starting to stretch, with the edges needing to be readjusted a few times a week (cue taking off sheet over and over again). I don't think it's going to last very long.

The 99 night trial is reasonable, but it took a bit longer to really be sure. Now I'm stuck with a mattress I don't really like and exploring what toppers will help without leading to excessive sinking.

No Regrets

We were on a lot of mattress mailing lists by the end. I was texted multiple times a day by mattress manufacturers trying to trick me into pulling the trigger on a mattress that was on sale for a "limited time only." Lots of giant flashing lights. Very intrusive and annoying.

So when boring mattress co came across my radar, their message resonated. I did a little poking around to satisfy myself that previous customers were happy, and that the materials were legitimately good. Beyond that, I just chose to gamble on this company. They seemed to be honestly trying to create a good thing.

I was not disappointed. Every part of the shopping experience was clean and straightforward. Communication with support was easy and pleasant. (I ordered a Cal-King, but then decided to stay with our original frame and needed to change to standard King)

And, critically, the mattress is excellent.
100% recommend.

Happy purchase

I was a little unsure about buying a bed without trying it out first, but I am happy that I eventually bought it. If you are debating on getting the bed, do yourself a favor and buy it, you won't regret it.

Zzzzzzzzz

The mattress is perfect … stellar value, quality, comfort, speedy delivery. I too had a legacy Tuft and Needle, which was holding up so well. I gave it to my daughter, who was in need of bigger bed. Then I discovered I had let go of something seemingly irreplaceable. Reddit saved the day. I just purchased the topper too, hoping it will live up to the standards of my T&N topper. And attention Boring, also hoping this new topper doesn’t slide down the mattress like my old one. Had to purchase corner grips to keep it in place.
Keep up the great work! Thanks for exceptional mattress and restful nights.
